If you do need a furnace replacement, we know how overwhelming it can be. Here are some of the frequently asked questions about furnaces that we get from some of our Omaha, NE residents:
What Are The Different Types Of Furnaces?
Single Stage: A single-stage furnace has only one stage of operation. It can either be turned on or turned off.
Two Stage: A two-stage furnace has two settings––full and half speed. This is a more efficient way to heat and provides for better comfort, because it can move the air at a slower pace.
Variable Stage or Modulating: A variable-stage or modulating furnace modulates the speed and heat output based on the temperature outside and the desired comfort level. This furnace only works as much as you need it, making this type the most energy-efficient type of furnace.
What Is AFUE?
AFUE, or Annualized Fuel Utilization Efficiency, is a measure of furnace-heating efficiency. The higher the AFUE, the more efficient the furnace.
What Size Furnace Do I Need?
We can calculate the correct size furnace for your home. The number of BTUs, or British Thermal Units, needed to heat your home is dependent on a number of variables. Contrary to what you might think, a bigger furnace may not necessarily mean more heating power for your home. Call us at Ideal Heating and Air Conditioning, and we can set up an appointment to calculate the furnace size you might need.

“Exceptional service. Our furnace quit on us while we were out of town. House was 38 degrees. Called Ideal at 1am and the owner was there within a half hour and had us up and running in no time. Explained what was wrong, and why our furnace was acting up. Great service.”

Gas Furnace Repair in Council Bluffs, NE 51503
“Corwin came out to our place when no one else would. On a very cold day, New Years weekend. We called around 15 places, and he was friendly and competitively priced. In my opinion, he went above and beyond multiple times during the process of fixing our heater. He was very situational with us and treated us like people and not like a number on a paper. I really appreciated the way he treated us. I would highly recommend Corwin to anybody needing help with their A/c or heater.”

Gas Furnace Maintenance in La Vista, NE 68128
“Ideal Heating and Air was incredible! First, Buffy asked some questions to see if they could help without having to come out. Then, when we couldn't figure it out, Corwin came out and walked me through what each thing meant and what was exactly wrong. He gave me the rundown on my Econet thermostat ( we had just moved in) so I would know how to use it properly. Thank you Ideal Heating and Air!”
